John Oster was born Nov. 5, 1923 at Tappen, N.D. to Christian and Katherina{Wanner} Oster. He was the youngest of seven children. .He farmed with his dad until 1954. He married Irene Gahner on March 18, 1955 at Clayton, N.M. He worked various jobs in the southern states, Then later moved back to Finley, N.D. to work for Sheyenne Valley Electric. They moved to Phoenix, Az. to work for Phoenix Power Company and next to Monmouth, Or. where he worked as a lineman until retirement. After retirement they made their home in Salem, Or.
He is survived by his wife, Irene and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his wife and extended family and neighbors. Preceded in death by his daughter Michele, his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
