Condolence: I worked with Ruben at the Texas Water Development Board. I always enjoyed talking with him- about work or life and thought of him as a mentor. He was an out-of-the-box thinker and I appreciated his sense of humor. I lost touch with him after I left TWDB in 2007 and didn't even realize he had moved to the northwest. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a genuine, thoughtful person and I will remember him fondly.

Condolence: I met Ruben while he was at the Texas Water Development Board. His office was calm, serene, and welcoming, just like him. His breadth of knowledge and his wisdom about life was inspiring and uplifting. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a kind and gentle-spirited human being.

Condolence: It is with a sad and heavy heart that I hear of the passing of my old friend and classmate in high school back in Laredo. Much time has passed since our last contact and although it was obvious back at that time that his potential was unlimited, only upon reading about Ruben have I come to realize and appreciate all that he accomplished in his life. What a great role model he is to all. Ruben touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
