Obituary for Lillian Kathleen Fochs (Walker)

Lillian Fochs, 88, died on October 29, 2015. She was born in Riddle, Oregon in 1927 to Noris and Vena Walker. They raised their family of six in Douglas County.

Lillian graduated from Roseburg High School. Her interest in dress design led her to Los Angeles, California. When she tried out for a position with the Federal Government her career took a new turn. She spent the rest of her career working for the Department of State at various posts overseas.

At one of her posts in Hungary she met her husband John, a fellow embassy employee. They raised three children overseas and stateside.

Lillian's love for travel continued after her retirement. She enjoyed "get-togethers" with fellow government retirees as well as her other friends. Favorite activities included going to the movies, reading and gardening. Going to her swin classes and hair dresser were also favorites.

Survivors include her husband, John; children Julie, Steve and Sharon; and five grandchildren. Private family services will be held in Roseburg.
