Obituary for Evelyn B. Meeks

velyn was born Aug. 27, 1920 in Dawson Texas. She was the fifth child of Marion and Janie Barnes. She grew up in Texas where she met James Meeks in 1936. They were married July 3rd in 1937. They moved to San Bernardino Ca. in 1938 and lived there until 1971 when they moved to Salem or. She enjoyed many crafts through out the years, sewing, beading, quilting (at the church) gardening especially her yellow and red roses. She was a member of The Peoples Church since 1971 which she missed dearly when health reasons prohibited her from going. She is survived by two children daughter Wanda Ritchey and husband Paul and son Jim Meeks jr. and wife Kay.
Grandsons include Larry(Cheri) Jerry, Jim, and John Harp. Grand daughters include Anne Meeks(Kurt) and Gail Gallowa(Scott). Great grandchildren include Jacy, Christopher, Amanda, Jimmy,(Kassie) Colton, Natalie, Jake, Gracie and kellen. Great,great grandchildren includes Nova Lee and Thomas James.
She will be missed by family, friends, church members and neighbors. She was a blessing to us all.
