John Clark Lingerfelt went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 28, 2017 after a courageous fight with cancer.
He was born in Bend, OR on March 20, 1948 to Aaron "Bud" and Fredora Lingerfelt.
John graduated from Bend High School in Bend, OR in 1966, attended Central Oregon Community College, and then went on to Oregon State University, receiving a Bachelors degree in Computer Science.
Marrying the love of his life, Marty, on November 6, 1988 at the Oak Grove Community Church, they built a life together in Keizer, OR.
John was employed with the State of Oregon for over 20 years as a Data Base Administrator and recently retired full-time in December 2016.
Everyone who knew John knew him as a gentle, loving soul. He was an avid photographer and you could often see John's photography in the Oregon State Fair competitions. John was technically gifted and enjoyed rebuilding computers.
John loved the outdoors, and he and Marty shared many similar interests. They enjoyed road tripping through the western states, nordic skiing, photography, gardening, canning, and cooking.
Always a family man, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Marty; Step-Children, Joanna Goertzen of Sisters, OR; Rebecca Cooley of Portland, OR; Sister, Sarah (& Dick) Elmer, of Bend, OR; and Grandchildren; Evan and Olivia Martinez of Sisters, OR.
John was preceded in death by his Father and Mother.

A memorial service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Salem, OR on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at noon.
