Obituary for Carol Marie Zimmerman

Carol Marie  Zimmerman
Carol Marie Zimmerman left this world to be in the presence of Jesus on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. She was born on July 26, 1936 on a farm near Kidder, South Dakota to Ralph and Helen Enderson. She had 2 older Brothers; Gerald and Dean, who proceeded her in Death. She attended a rural 1 room school for 8 years, then to Kidder High School; there were 12 people in her graduating class. She attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, South Dakota for 1 year, then taught in a country school with 8 different grades! After 2 years Carol and her friend went to Palo Alto, CA, met 2 other local girls and lived together for 1 year. During this time, Carol and 2 friends all worked together at Royal typewriter before each one married.

Carol met Curt Zimmerman on a blind date November 1958 and after a quick romance, they were married February 14, 1959 in Salem, Oregon, where Curt lived before entering the Navy. They have lived in Astoria, OR; Bethesda, MD; Naples, Italy and San Jose, CA before settling in Salem, OR. They raised 2 children, Corey Dean and Connie Rae, as well as 2 Nephews; Dolan and Michael, who lived with them for several years. Curt was the love of her life, born on the same day, same year, and both in South Dakota; they lived together happily for 58 years.

The Grandchildren include Alan(Brandy) Nessl; Wendy Nessl; Evan Zimmerman; Nicole Zimmerman; Daniel Zimmerman and Stephen Zimmerman.
A Memorial service will be held at Evangelical Bible Church at 1175 SE Howe St, Dallas, Oregon 97338 on July 15 at 11 AM, Lunch to follow.
